Privacy policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This privacy policy explains which data the Jean-Claude application (« the Application », « we ») collects and processes when you install and use it on your Shopify store, for what purpose, and what your rights are. We are committed to processing only the data strictly necessary for the service to work.
Who we are
Jean-Claude is a Shopify application that uses artificial intelligence to generate conversion-focused product pages. From the material you provide (product photos, customer research notes, or the URL of an existing product page), the Application writes the sales copy, generates images, then creates the product and a complete page on your store's theme.
Data controller: SHINSEKAI LLC, 5830 E 2nd St, Ste 7000 #33769, Casper, WY 82609, United States.

What data we collect, and why
The Application only accesses your store data, through the access scopes you approve at installation, and solely for the purposes described below:
- Products — to read the product information you submit, and to create or update the generated products (titles, descriptions, variants, prices).
- Themes — to add the generated sections and product pages to your store's theme.
- Discounts — to automatically create the offer or bundle attached to a page.
- Files (images) — to upload the generated visuals to your store and to use the ones you provide.
- Installation and store account data — store domain name, store identifier, language and regional settings, and the access tokens required to connect to the Shopify API. This data is used to authenticate the Application, to manage your page allowance and for billing.
- Technical generation log — for each generated page, the Application records the technical run: duration of each step, number of images produced, quality checks that required a regeneration, and the details of any errors. This log is used exclusively to diagnose a problem you report to us: without it, we could not understand what happened on your store. It contains neither the generated content, nor your credentials, nor any data about your customers. It is readable by our support team and automatically deleted after 30 days.
We do not collect or process any personal data about your end customers (orders, contact details, payment data, purchase history). The Application does not need this information and does not request it.
Processors and third-party services
To generate the copy and the images, the Application sends the product content you submit (descriptions, texts, photos, and where applicable the reference URL you provide) to third-party artificial intelligence providers, for the sole purpose of producing the text and visuals of your page. We do not send them any data about your end customers.
Our main processors are:
- Shopify — the platform the Application runs on.
- Fly.io — hosting of our application server.
- Text and image AI model providers — to write the copy and produce the page visuals.
These providers only use the content sent to them to deliver the requested service. Some may be located outside the European Union (see « Transfers outside the EU »).
Data retention and deletion
We keep your store data (settings, access token, page allowance, generated content) only for as long as
the Application is installed. When you uninstall the Application, Shopify sends us the
shop/redact webhook: we then delete the data attached to your store
within 48 hours.
Shopify also mandates the customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks.
The Application supports them, but since it stores no personal data about your end customers, it has no
customer data to return or to delete.
Your rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, you have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over the data we process. To exercise them, write to us at contact@jean-claude.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).
Transfers outside the EU
Some of our processors (hosting, AI providers) may process data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. These transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (European Commission standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism).
Security
Exchanges with Shopify and our processors are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to tokens and store data is restricted to the components required for the service to operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Application or to applicable regulations. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
